DescriptionOriginal color 8mm home movie of President and Mrs. Kennedy's arrival at Love Field on November 22, 1963, filmed by Rudy and Vera Clauss. Later the Clausses went to Dealey Plaza to film the Texas School Book Depository and the mourners and flowers.
The Love Field footage shows a number of noted journalists waiting for the arrival of the president, including Jim Lehrer. The film shows the Kennedys deplaning and then walking right up close and past the photographer, moving quickly. Following that is a brief sequence showing Lady Bird Johnson smiling as she passes by the crowds at the Love Field fence line behind the Kennedys. The film also shows President Johnson getting into his car for the motorcade, and the camera captures many of the follow up cars driving away behind the presidential limousine as the motorcade starts.
