Curatorial CommentaryGeorge Charlton passed away on October 26, 2012. He first joined the Dallas Museum of Art board of trustees in 1968 and later served as president of the board. He was instrumental in a decade-long effort, from 1974 to 1984, to move the Dallas Museum of Art from its longtime home at Fair Park to a much larger location downtown as the first institution in what would become the Dallas Arts District. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
