Curatorial Commentary

I met Ms. Lee at the Dallas Public Library while attending an African American Treasures program in 2011. She briefly detailed her memories of the 1960s, and I immediately invited her to record an interview for the Museum's ongoing Oral History Project. She is a great example of a civil rights storyteller whose valuable firsthand account may have been lost forever had we not met by accident that day. The Museum is always seeking new voices for the Oral History Project to share memories of the 1960s.
