DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Dr. Paul Lauter. Professor emeritus of literature at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, Lauter is author of "Our Sixties: An Activist’s History" (2020). Both an academic and outspoken social activist, Lauter joined Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in 1963 and taught at Mississippi Freedom Schools during the summer of 1964. Later arrested at the conclusion of the Selma to Montgomery march in 1965, he also helped a number of young men resist the military draft and co-founded The Feminist Press in New York City in 1970.
Interview conducted via Zoom on March 9, 2022 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is one hour and twenty-three minutes long.
